pantry staples
After looking through the photos from the past two months or so I realized we have taken an excessive amount of photos of us in front of food. Sitting down for a yummy plate at a restaurant, while wonderful and delicious, does not give credit to some of the new items that seem to be regulars in the Dehner pantry. To be clear, we can find everything we need here in Merida. Of course, we have wants and flavors we miss (Oasis Hummus, for example), but we have come across some things that, from my extensive market research and years perusing the various aisles of Hyvee, Schnucks, Costco, Safeway, Krogers, Trader Joes, and my forever have my heart ALDI, that are unique to the shelves of the grocery stores in Mexico. So I wanted to take a break from the "look what we are doing update" to something of a different flavor, pun intended.
Megan, Love this! Looks like our fridge in Puebla. We do get artisans made yogurt instead of the packaged ones, in foreign flavors. Maybe you have it in the Mercado? I think it comes from Heaven! And we are partial to Nestlé brand gluten-free Corn Flakes, which we can't get here! Never thought we'd crave cereal. Enjoy the new Pantry! A year from now, I wonder what you will miss? Love to all!
So interesting Megan! And the photos really help the mind process what Mayo w/Lime would look like ;-). Personally, I'm a tad jealous! I made Fish Tacos last night and wished I had access to freshly made tortillas in coolers when I went shopping! Love your posts and pics ... please keep them coming!
